What kind of website or computer program could I make as a 10th grade high school student?By Lane, on July 19th, 2010 superman’s twin asked:
I want something big that I can put on a college application, and what I am good as is computers. The only things I could think of colleges would like is some kind of computer program that is extremely impressive, or a website with a decent amount of traffic. I don’t know what I could do for either though. For either one, I want it to show that it took a lot of time and thought, and I had to work hard at it. So I’m looking for some website ideas, or a program idea. Or just another idea altogether on the topic of computers. I am very good at networking computers…I can set up a wireless home network of 4 computers in about 15 minutes with shared folders and printers. why don’t you write a program to add two numbers and always get the same answer
Make the website, you don’t need to publish it on the internet, you can just have it on your computer, and when it comes to an application just put it on a cd.
Or publish when you have the money.
You could design a personal website. Most ISP accounts include space for this purpose. For example, as a BellSouth ISP customer, my account includes 10MB of personal web space. Once you have your website up and running, you could volunteer your services to set up websites for churches, etc. They provide the web space, you provide the design expertise.
Good luck with the project and your college admissions.
